Breaking Records and Building Legends:

The Dragon Trebuchet Challenge! with Synapxe
3900 Participants. 6 Houses. 180 Teams. 1 Epic Battle.

In the most ambitious event we’ve ever hosted, FOCUS Adventure proudly partnered with Synapxe to bring to life a high-octane, fantasy-inspired programme: The Dragon Trebuchet Challenge! With an astounding 3,900 participants gathered on a single day, the event not only shattered our previous attendance records—it also redefined what large-scale Teambuilding can achieve.

Held within the expansive space at Singapore EXPO with energy levels off the charts, the event was more than just your typical staff conference. It was an immersive, unforgettable experience that merged creativity, collaboration, and a healthy dose of friendly rivalry.

The Synapxe Saga: Six Houses, One Goal

Employees from Synapxe were divided into six proud Houses, each with a singular mission: to design, build, and deploy a Dragon-themed Trebuchet capable of launching projectiles to demolish rival castles. From the get-go, every house got busy with strategic planning, deployment of resources, ingenious engineering and a hall full of cheering (and jeering), bringing their unique identity and spirit into play. While alliances were tested and basketballs were flung, what stood firm was the unwavering camaraderie and unity that marked each team’s effort.

3. Give a fun office orientation (e.g. scavenger hunt, Monopoly race)

Let’s face it — the typical office tour often ends up being a forgettable walk-through: “Here’s the pantry. This is the finance office. That’s where XYZ sits.” Before long, it all blends together, and new hires are left trying to remember which corridor leads where.

At FOCUS Adventure, we take office orientation to the next level with customisable, interactive activities. Imagine a scavenger hunt or Incredible Race-style challenge where teams explore key departments, meet colleagues, and discover important locations — not just inside the office, but also nearby spots like coffee shops, popular lunch places, or essential services.

These activities are designed to be both memorable and practical, helping new hires feel comfortable navigating their surroundings while working together as a team. To ensure that everyone is engaged, we create fun roles and responsibilities within the challenge so that every participant plays an active part in the adventure.

Why Trebuchets?

The trebuchet, a medieval siege engine, is the perfect metaphor for strategic force and momentum—qualities at the core of Synapxe’s journey as a forward-moving, people-first organization. In line with the Synapxe dragon mascot, the Dragon Trebuchets released their payload through the air, overcoming their obstacles and meeting their targets.

Beyond the Battle

Though the competition was fierce, the real victories were found in the laughter, the leadership that emerged, and the connections that deepened among teammates. The Dragon Trebuchet Challenge wasn’t just about knocking down walls—it was about breaking barriers, and launching a culture of collaboration sky-high.

Our Record-Breaking Moment

This event marks a monumental milestone for FOCUS Adventure:

As the dust settled and the trebuchets returned to the armoury, one truth stood tall: when you bring together bold imagination, daring execution, and nearly 4,000 passionate participants, magic happens.

As the day winded down, our 100-strong crew sat in our holding areas across from each other speechless but full of pride at the amazing success of the day. What an effort! Months of meticulous planning and precise execution culminated in a day we will never forget.

To the Synapxe team—thank you for your trust, energy, and incredible spirit. You’ve set a new standard, and we can’t wait to build on it.

Until next time… Ready, aim, fire!

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Singapore

Each team will be tasked to build a robot together. After which they will be going through the learning session on manual controls and how to control them. This will allow their robots to be unique as compared to the rest. Their final objective will be to pit the robot that they built against man-made obstacles such as to carry items and moving from point A to point B or to going through a maze or to dance! The possibilities is endless! They will then customise a message for the children using the robots built and have it delivered to the beneficiaries.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand that it is not always the results that matter but also the process
  • Engage participant’s imagination and problem solving skills
  • Increase confidence and commitment levels
Allows greater meaning to giving and helping those in need
  • To tap on each other’s strengths and weaknesses
