The Synapxe Saga: Six Houses, One Goal

Employees from Synapxe were divided into six proud Houses, each with a singular mission: to design, build, and deploy a Dragon-themed Trebuchet capable of launching projectiles to demolish rival castles. From the get-go, every house got busy with strategic planning, deployment of resources, ingenious engineering and a hall full of cheering (and jeering), bringing their unique identity and spirit into play. While alliances were tested and basketballs were flung, what stood firm was the unwavering camaraderie and unity that marked each team’s effort.

SG60 Celebrating 60 Years of Purpose: How CSR Drives a More Sustainable Singapore

2025 marks a remarkable milestone for Singapore—60 years of independence, resilience, and progress. As we commemorate this diamond jubilee, the nation’s focus has rightly turned towards sustainability—not just in environmental terms, but also in how we cultivate enduring communities, inclusive growth, and meaningful work.

In recent years, corporate social responsibility (CSR) has taken center stage in Singapore’s sustainability journey. Beyond profit, companies are now expected to play an active role in addressing social challenges and creating a positive impact on society. At FOCUS Adventure, we believe CSR is not just a checkbox, but a powerful opportunity to align people with purpose.

Our corporate training programs have always been about building stronger teams and better leaders. But in honour of Singapore’s 60th year, we wanted to do more—by inspiring teams to contribute to something greater than themselves.

The Build-A-Bike Challenge!

One of our most meaningful activities involves a seemingly straightforward challenge: build The Best bicycle as a team. Participants dive into the task, collaborating, competing, and problem-solving. What they don’t initially know is that these bicycles aren’t just for points or prizes. They’re destined for the less fortunate who need them in their everyday lives!

Midway through the session, we pause. We reveal the true purpose of their work…and the atmosphere instantly shifts. Conversations deepen, teamwork intensifies, and a profound sense of purpose takes over. What started as a game transforms into a mission. That moment when participants realise their work has real-world impact—is powerful beyond words.

This is more than just a team-building exercise. It’s a learning journey that mirrors what many organisations strive for: aligning individual effort with a broader vision. When employees understand how their everyday actions contribute to a greater cause, engagement soars. They aren’t simply building bicycles—they’re building lives, communities, and a more sustainable Singapore.

In a year of reflection and celebration, we’re reminded that our nation’s strength lies not just in infrastructure or innovation, but in the values we uphold. CSR isn’t just about writing cheques. It’s about creating experiences that bring people together and foster a culture of giving.

As we ride into the next chapter of Singapore’s story, let’s ensure our progress is purposeful, our people are engaged, and our impact is lasting. At FOCUS Adventure, we’re proud to play a small part in that journey—one bicycle at a time.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Singapore

Each team will be tasked to build a robot together. After which they will be going through the learning session on manual controls and how to control them. This will allow their robots to be unique as compared to the rest. Their final objective will be to pit the robot that they built against man-made obstacles such as to carry items and moving from point A to point B or to going through a maze or to dance! The possibilities is endless! They will then customise a message for the children using the robots built and have it delivered to the beneficiaries.

Learning Objectives

  • To understand that it is not always the results that matter but also the process
  • Engage participant’s imagination and problem solving skills
  • Increase confidence and commitment levels
Allows greater meaning to giving and helping those in need
  • To tap on each other’s strengths and weaknesses
Supermarket Race Challenge Logo

If you are looking for an exciting challenge with a meaningful element, The Supermarket Race Challenge! will be the program for you! Teams will get to earn cash by attempting a series of challenges along the race, in a bid to earn enough money to purchase essential items for the selected beneficiary. Given a limited time and facing multiple challenges, teams will have to plan carefully and make strategic decisions to optimize their resources, and purchase as many items as possible for a good cause.
