At its core, a powerful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative does more than just support a good cause – it brings people together to collaborate with intention, creativity, and heart. We recently had the privilege of hosting a unique teambuilding CSR programme for our clients from Teckwah, and the results were nothing short of inspiring.
Through this initiative, the Teckwah team seamlessly blended their professional expertise with community service, turning environmental friendly recyclable materials culminating into a meaningful donation to Gladiolus Place.
Innovation Coming to Life
Prior to the programme day, the foundation for this project was laid through Teckwah’s desire for a signature gift. Leveraging their specialised skills, the team took charge of the initial phase: designing and manufacturing custom cardboard shoe racks. Every piece was meticulously planned and precut, ensuring they were ready for the hands-on challenge ahead.
On the day of the event, energy was high as the Teckwah staff stepped away from their daily routines to become builders. Divided into teams, their mission was to transform flat-packed components into sturdy, functional furniture.
In true Teckwah spirit, the room was filled with the sounds of collaboration—sharing tools, troubleshooting assembly steps, and cheering as the first finished structures began to take shape. It wasn’t just about putting together a structure; it was about strengthening team dynamics, active problem solving and purpose-driven contribution.
Giving from the Heart
Once the projects were completed, the Teckwah management team stepped forward to complete the circle of giving. The freshly baked shoe racks were officially donated to Gladiolus Place, a residential home dedicated to healing and shielding vulnerable young women. Rather than delivering finalised, sterile furniture, the shoe racks were intentionally left raw and unpainted, allowing the residents of Gladiolus Place to personalise their keepsakes during their scheduled art classes. This promotes their creativity and cultivates a sense of homeliness in their residence
The Power of Collaborative CSR
This programme beautifully demonstrated the outcome of Corporate Teambuilding aligning with genuine Social Impact. Teckwah invested their design expertise, physical effort, and shared time for the greater good. In so doing, forged stronger bonds within their team, and a lasting impact in society.
