CLUB RAINBOW 4D3N CRUISE – CSR

Our Friendly Team Members

From 30 November 2018 to 3 December 2018, representatives from our group

organization, FOCUS Adventure, Outdoor Adventures, CAMP CHALLENGE and SeaOPS

(FAOACCP1P) carried out a Family Day Retreat for Club Rainbow on the Royal Carribean Voyager of the Seas. It was an exciting and fun-filled adventure on the 4 day 3 night cruise for all!

Club Rainbow is an organization that supports and empowers children with chronic illnesses and their families by providing compassionate relevant services in their journey towards an enriching life. Club Rainbow provides opportunities to families that would otherwise often be unavailable or hard to come by, including travelling overseas. This 4D3N cruise was specially organized for the families as a form of giving back to them.

Volunteer doctors were also onboard to cater to different medical needs throughout the cruise in order to ensure the well-being of all families on board. The activities conducted by FACCOAP1P were also customised to be inclusive for all participants to ensure maximum participation. The activities started off as a strong competition as teams pitted against one another. Through the course of the programme, teams worked together and placed emphasis on inter- and intra-collaboration amongst one another. This brought about a bigger impact and meaning to the activities and everyone eventually emerged as champions!

We received positive feedback from Club Rainbow (including the organizer, President and Executive Director) who commented that they were very pleased with the flow and were appreciative that the activities were inclusive to cater to participants from all walks of life.

We would like to thank the team as well as the organising committee from Club Rainbow for their passion, commitment and time given throughout this programme. We would also like to thank our sponsors from Kidzania, Adventure World and Glamping society for their generous contributions to this programme!

HOW ABOUT TEAMBUILDING ON A CRUISE SHIP?

Participants competing in a friendly team-building competition

FOCUS Adventure and Genting Dream partnered together to offer Teambuilding on Dream Cruises

In March 2019, we were invited to Genting Dream’s MICE event held on board their cruise ship. The guests were treated to a preview of their latest production show, SONIO, before FOCUS Adventure came on stage to introduce ourselves and the services we offer. Our team was then stationed at the Palm Court with a stunning 180° view of the sea for the breakout session, engaging the guests in our very own Mobile Adventure Programme, Masterpiece, which is one of the many teambuilding activities that we are able to conduct on board the ship.

Contact us now to find out more about the Dream Cruises Teambuilding programme offerings.

We are more than thankful for the guests’ enthusiasm during the session, and are also honoured to be given the chance by Genting Dream to share the work we do at FOCUS Adventure. We hope the guests had a better insight on how we can further collaborate to enhance their services to their clients on board a cruise ship, and look forward to a closer partnership with Genting Dream in the future.

SUCCESS LAUNCH OF THE DRONE CHALLENGE!

SUCCESS LAUNCH OF THE DRONE CHALLENGE!

Colleagues bonding through interactive problem-solving activities

Instead of a single controller for each drone, responsibility for the controls were shared between at least 3 members, each member being responsible for a single plane of movement. (For example, Participant A is in charge of moving the drone up and down, Participant B for moving forward and backwards)

Company employees participating in a trust-building exercise

We are proud to have successfully conducted The Drone Challenge! programmes in March 2019! In their teams, participants had to design and build their own 3D race track, while the controllers familiarized themselves with the drone controllers. However in FOCUS Adventure, every moment is a challenge!

In an ultimate test of teamwork and coordination, teams had to navigate their drones through their race track in the shortest possible time!

Corporate workshop focusing on team efficiency and collaboration
Both sessions helped fire up the teams’ competitive spirits, while forcing them to come together as a group to plan and coordinate their movement! Overall, the program was a great success and everyone went home feeling a little richer!

Fun and engaging teamwork challenge for corporate professionals
On 25th January 2019, FOCUS Adventure together with our sister company, Camp Challenge, had the pleasure of hosting 23 students under our partner beneficiary, FaithActs to a fun-filled afternoon of creativity and laughter. As part of their monthly birthday celebrations programme, the children and youths took part in The Mascot Challenge! which was designed to increase interactions and communications among them as they sorted through various everyday items to create the most innovative and magnificent outfits for one another!

Besides making them think out of the box and exercise their imagination, there was also a quiet message on the importance of sustainability, in the way they had to convert common everyday items into a new impactful mascot. They were also given the opportunity to share more about their very own creations, providing them with a platform for public speaking and self-confidence. Through this session, they learnt the importance of creativity, teamwork and sharing whilst playing and having fun. The day ended on a high note with a birthday song and cake cutting ceremony for all the January babies!

As part of their Adventure Learning programme, one of our groups embarked on a mission of creating their very own hampers filled with items ranging from food supplies to everyday necessities. With a total approximate value of $3000 dollars of groceries donated to our beneficiary, Sheng Hong Family Service Centre; it was a day where fond memories and a sense of accomplishment were forged. Teams were put through endless challenges and negotiations as they worked together to create their unique hampers from scratch. By the end of the programme, everyone proudly presented their masterpieces; sharing their various thought processes and ideas behind each work of art. Of course not forgetting the key intent behind the programme, we thank all our participants for their enthusiasm and creativity on behalf on Sheng Hong Family Service Centre.

SHAPING YOUTHS AND CHILDREN’S ATTITUDES THROUGH ADVENTURE LEARNING

The CSR team was tasked for the fourth year running to create an impactful programme for the youth and children in Help Family Service Centre. The activities aimed to foster teambuilding, collaboration and the value of empathy by thinking in each other’s shoes. It was a fun filled day with the participants ascending our 24-metre tower, TEAM CHALLENGE HOURGLASS, a sharing session through LEGO building, and ending off with a mass dance with the staff and volunteers! It was heartening to hear from the staff that the youths have matured and grew from the previous run, and expressed their gratitude to our team for guiding them throughout these 4 years.

CSR – CONSTRUCTING ROBOTS FOR A GOOD CAUSE

On 24June 2019, 250 of our participants experienced what it meant to learn through play with the use of robotics, LEGO and SCRUM methodology. The teams engaged in challenges and brainstormed how to execute their ideas in the fastest and most efficient way possible. Besides having fun during the construction of the robots, at the end of the programme, those robots were donated to a beneficiary of their choice. On behalf of our beneficiaries, we would like to thank our clients for their efforts and contributions to make the world a better place!
