LOOKING TO DO CSR OVERSEAS?

FOCUS Adventure has partnered LooLa Adventure Resort, an award winning eco-resort based in Bintan to empower companies looking to contribute and make an impact in the local community. LooLa is leading an international research program (involving World Business Council for Sustainable Development and several universities including NUS), to economize further on the original UNICEF-designed wastewater gardens. This project doesn’t only allow economic gains for the local families, it also has deep social impacts and health and environmental benefits.

EDWARDS LIFESCIENCES KICKS OFF YEAR 2017 WITH FIRST CSR CHALLENGE OF CCF

On 7th January, we are delighted to hold our first CSR CHALLENGE! – The Supermarket Race Challenge! for 2017. A total of 26 participants from Edwards Lifesciences (HR and Finance Department) had participated in this event. The participants raced around Sentosa and Vivocity, attempting team based challenges to earn the grocery list and budget to purchase the items from the supermarket. The purchased items will be for one of our official beneficiaries – Children’s Cancer Foundation (CCF). Working closely with CCF in identifying their needs, the items bought will be given to their children during CCF’s annual children’s camp. As part of CCF’s effort to normalize camp experiences for their children and aid in their development, the 2017 children’s camp was themed “Shine like Stars”. We sincerely hope that the groceries will be put to good use during the camp, in giving energy and a boost to the children! On behalf of CCF and FOCUS Adventure, we will like to give our appreciation to Edwards Lifesciences for their contribution and their efforts in partaking in this meaningful teambuilding event!

FOCUS Consulting believes in building your capability to face the future. Our strength lies in creating acute and relevant perspectives that carry adequate importance to create new paradigms in organisations.

FOCUS Consulting Logo

Future holds answers to all our queries, dreams, aspirations, etc. It is not an option to just wait for future to arrive. We seek to meet the future before it comes.

Opportunities are created and not chanced upon. While some believe in luck of the draw, we believe in creating the draw for ourselves.

Changes are inevitable. Even if we recognize this fact, it doesn’t guarantee discerning what to change. Identifying the critical changes is imperative to success.

Unique propositions are processed opportunities. An opportunity that evolves into an idea requires effective communication. Not paying attention to how these ideas should be presented.

Systems are an integral part of our lives. We trust black boxes that we have little or no comprehension of as working principles. Every corporate environment creates its own systems that sustain it running. Only the right systems will yield desired outcomes.

DRAGON BOAT SPRINTS REGATTA IN CELEBRATION OF WORLD WATER DAY

On the 21st March 2015, Saturday, Singapore Dragon Boat Association (SDBA) organised the 100m Dragon Boat Sprints Regatta in celebration of World Water Day. World Water Day is an annual event to promote awareness on the importance of water and energy.

With a team of 14 people that included staff from FOCUS Adventure and her sister company, CAMP CHALLENGE, we competed in our first ever Dragon Boat race in both mixed and opens category.

Despite our hectic work schedule and unforeseen circumstances, we managed to clock our record timing of 0.36.819secs in the mixed category.  With room for improvement in timing, it will spur us on towards a better performance for our next race!

” Being the first race for the young dragonboat team, the effort and willingness to sacrifice the time and effort on Saturdays despite the Hectic schedule is commendable. “
– Jeff Tan, Assistant Manager, R&D

” Being able to participate in an actual dragonboat race was definitely a humble and an enriching experience for all of us! Our results were truly commendable and I believe that the whole team benefitted greatly from the whole experience. Looking forward to more races! “
– Foo YongJun, Facilitator

” The event brought the team closer and showed us our potential. Even though we did not make it first, but for a first race we performed quite well. Now with more trainings, I look forward to our next race! “
– Sasi, Manager, SeaOPS

WALK FOR OUR CHILDREN 2015

On 6th September 2015, Singapore Children’s Society organised its annual 3km walkathon and carnival, “Walk for Our Children” at Palawan Beach, Sentosa. Through this signature fund-raising event, Children’s Society aimed not only to encourage family bonding and fun, the spirit of charity was to be promoted as well.

Together with more than 20 organisations, FOCUS Adventure, CAMP CHALLENGE and Outdoor Adventures set up a carnival booth to raise funds for the beneficiaries under Singapore Children’s Society. We set up “The Finger Blaster Challenge!” booth which attracted participants from all walks of life. Despite the sweltering heat, the staff persevered till the end of the carnival and we are pleased to announce that a total of $535 was raised from the booth. We sincerely hope that the funds raised will greatly benefit the beneficiaries.

The experience gained from this carnival was valuable as we do look forward to being involved and contribute in future like-minded events!
