THE BUILD A BIKE CHALLENGE!

FOCUS Adventure client, a MNC has designed a programme for new hires coming onboard to understand the company’s culture, skills and working behaviours of fellow colleagues. The participants were not only from Singapore but from APAC and around the world. A programme that was originally a bonding programme between the new hires soon became an event that is also CSR-focused. From a quick meeting with client, an idea of infusing the induction programme with CSR was conceptualised so people can relate better to it. For this first-of-its kind programme, a total of 6 bikes were built. After the session, participants found a greater sense of purpose working in this company. This will be an ongoing programme happening every second week of each month from August to December 2017. This is an excellent example of how FOCUS collaborate with our clients to come up with innovative ideas.

FIRST OVERSEAS CSR PROGRAMME IN COLLABORATION WITH LOOLA ADVENTURE RESORTS!

As proud partners of LooLa Adventure Resorts, an award-winning eco-resort, FOCUS Adventure led a 200 strong group of employees from a local MNC to the sunny island of Bintan for a CSR project. Although 75% of our Earth consists of water, it remains a stark fact that only 1.5% remains drinkable.

Fighting through the sweltering conditions, our contingent laid the foundations for a sustainable water source for a local community where water had quickly become a scarce and expensive resource due to toxic conditions of existing wells. These Safe Water Gardens (SWGs) will provide a lifetime supply of clean water to aid the local village in their day-to-day lives.

Our passionate drive to help ensured that we were pushed to our limits and enabled us to finish the project ahead of schedule, allowing us some time to spend with local children at 2 primary schools, where we interacted via traditional arts & crafts, sports & activities, and even repair some roads to further enhance living conditions there.

All in all, it was an unforgettable experience for both ourselves and the local community, and we look forward to the next time we have an opportunity to make a meteoric impact on those less fortunate than ourselves.

MIGRANT WORKER FUN DAY OUT 25TH FEB 2018

Toiling under the hot sun, braving the hazards of their jobs and the equipments, the migrant workers in our country have without fail, contributed greatly to building our nation.

In appreciation of their efforts, the FOCUS Adventure CSR team organised our first ever CSR FUN day for over 70 of our migrant friends at FOCUS Adventure’s Sentosa Tanjong learning facility, together with ItsRainingRaincoats, and student volunteers from Global Indian International School (10 students) and ITE College East (15 students) on the 25th of February 2018.

The migrant workers were broken into teams together with the student volunteers, and were tasked to work hand in hand on the Incredible Sentosa Race! The race gave everyone a chance to enjoy the sights of Sentosa, while the challenges along the way allowed for greater interaction between students and migrant workers.

The programme ended off with everyone enjoying the Chinese New Year tradition of ‘Lo Hei’, together with a hearty lunch after a fun-filled morning spent exploring Sentosa. What was especially heart-warming was seeing the students sitting with our migrant friends eating together, and exchanging numbers and pictures on their handphones.

We believe that through our passionate drive for this programme, we have successfully broken through the hidden barrier between our migrant friends and youths, fostering teamwork and closer communication, teaching our future generation about compassion and awareness for the less fortunate and of course, making this programme a memorable and enjoyable FUN day for our migrant friends and students!

The CSR team look forward to creating more opportunities to make an impact on those in need, and to make the world a better place!

FAITHACTS CNY THEME BIRTHDAY PARTY 23RD FEB 2018

We hosted 20 students under FaithActs (one of FOCUS Adventure’s CSR partners), on the 23rd of February 2018 at CampChallenge Sembawang learning facility, as part of our CSR initiative for the children.

This allowed the children a chance to escape from the classroom setting, and enjoy themselves. For some, this was their first time at a birthday party, be it their own or someone else, and through fun and games, to remind them that there were still people who cared about them, and their birthdays were still important to them and to others. Our CSR team was pleased to be a part of this effort and we hope the children had a memorable first birthday party experience.

INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY INTO TEAMBUILDING

Group collaboration during a hands-on team activity

“Technology is best when it brings people together”. – Matt Mullenweg

Technology has become an essential part of our daily lives in this modern society. As a forward-looking teambuilding company, FOCUS Adventure hit a milestone on 23rd of May 2018, when we launched our very first technology-intergrated programme – The Robotics Challenge!

Participants were given the task to build robots from scratch in their teams. As part of the CSR-initiative, they taught children from less-privileged backgrounds how to use the robots. The Robotics Challenge! encouraged teams to tap on their creativity to complete a series of challenges which became resources for each individual robot to manoeuvre through.
This engaging activity introduced a fresh experience on how technology can be seamlessly incorporated into teambuilding
It was definitely a fruitful programme which we look forward to sharing with more of our clients and beneficiaries.

THE GRACIOUS GIVING CHALLENGE

THE GRACIOUS GIVING CHALLENGE!

Corporate team celebrating success after a challenge

On the 4th of May 2018, FOCUS Adventure conducted our very first The Gracious Giving Challenge! at our FOCUS Adventure Learning Facility in Sentosa. This is one of our new Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme and the selected beneficiaries were FaithActs and Beyond Social Services.

Customised to the client’s requirements, there were two parts to the programme. It started with the teams in a high energy and competitive mindset. Participants were split into teams and engaged in friendly competition between groups in The Incredible Sentosa Race!, and ended off with the purchasing of groceries at Giant supermarket in Vivocity. Teams had to leverage on their individual member’s strengths to overcome the different challenges faced.

Midway through the programme, it was revealed to the participants that this was not only a teambuilding programme, but there was also an element of giving back to society and helping the less fortunate.

Backed by this greater purpose, participants started working together as a collective unit rather than as individual teams, exhibiting unity and sincerity as an organisation. After ensuring that majority of the items on the grocery list was purchased, participants moved on to the second portion of the programme, The Gracious Giving Challenge! With the grocery items bought earlier in the day, the participants packaged them into hampers for the respective organizations, not forgetting to add a touch of their creative flair into the design and aesthetics of the hampers.

Despite a full day of physically demanding and mentally draining activities, the participants expressed gratitude and fulfilment towards being able to create a positive impact in someone else’s

CLIENT’S DAY 2018

CLIENT’S DAY 2018

FOCUS Adventure organised our Client’s Day on 29 August in appreciation of the continuous support our clients have shown over the years. Kicking off from our site, it was a chance to reconnect with some of our old clients, as well as a chance for our clients to network amongst themselves. Being on the sunny island of Sentosa, there was no way they would be staying indoors the entire afternoon, as they were soon flagged off to personally experience our new Augmented Reality (AR) based race, The Decrypt-The-Code Challenge, where they had to search for checkpoints and solve puzzles using an AR app. Along the way, the challenge stations included our other new activities as well such as The Archery Combat Challenge! and The Robotics Challenge! using JIMU robots. All these culminated at our mystery end point, AJ Hackett Sentosa, where everyone had a taste of our newest experience doing a challenge with the AJ Hackett tower.
It was truly heartening to see people from different companies who have just met to work together and have fun. As a token of appreciation for all who came down, we prepared a coffee table book for each company filled with highlights from all their programs with us over the years. We would also like to extend our sincerest thanks to those who were not able to come, for your support over the years. We will continue to strive to deliver the best to you and we hope to see you at our next Client’s Day
